Hey everyone! I am finally looking to upgrade my setup. I have been stuck on an old 144Hz panel for years, but now that I am getting more serious about Valorant and CS2, I feel like I am falling behind in high-rank lobbies. I really need something that handles fast motion smoothly without any annoying ghosting.

I am specifically looking for:

  • Extremely low input lag
  • Sharp motion clarity features like DyAc
  • A size between 24 and 27 inches

I am currently torn between some of the classic Zowie models and the newer OLED options hitting the market. Since I mainly play competitive shooters, what is the absolute best 240Hz gaming monitor currently available for that competitive edge?

I've used both and honestly, the Zowie XL2546K 24.5 inch 240Hz TN is still the king for shooters. DyAc+ makes a huge difference with recoil control. If you want something prettier, the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE-B 27 inch QHD OLED 240Hz is fast but way more expensive. For the price and pure competitive advantage, the Zowie is definitely the smarter buy imo.

Jumping in here... if you are really pushing for that competitive edge in Valorant or CS2, you need to understand the difference between refresh rate and motion persistence. Even at 240Hz, you can get blur if the pixels cant keep up. Since you mentioned DyAc, you are likely looking for backlight strobing. Beyond the usual Zowie stuff, you should look at the ViewSonic ELITE XG2431 23.8 Inch 240Hz Gaming Monitor. It is actually Blur Busters Approved, meaning the strobe tuning (they call it PureXP) is top-tier. You can customize the strobe pulse length to get it exactly how you want it. It is an IPS panel, so the colors wont look as washed out as a TN, but the motion clarity is legit scary good for the price. Now, if you want to go the OLED route, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM 27 Inch 240Hz Gaming Monitor is basically the gold standard for that tech right now. OLEDs have sub-0.1ms response times, so while they dont use strobing like DyAc, the natural clarity is insane because there is zero ghosting. The main downside is that OLEDs can sometimes feel a bit too smooth if you are used to the harsh, flickery clarity of a strobed TN panel. Honestly, it comes down to whether you want that CRT-like strobed look or the crystal clear, smear-free look of OLED. Personally, I find the 24-inch size better for focus, but 27-inch 1440p is becoming the new standard for a reason... the extra pixels actually help with long-range visibility in CS.
