Hey everyone! I finally joined the current gen and picked up a PS5 last week after saving up for months. Right now, I am hooked up to an ancient 24-inch 1080p office monitor I repurposed from my old work setup, and honestly, it is pretty depressing. I can see the pixels and the colors look totally washed out. I really want to see what this console can actually do, especially with games like Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Forbidden West looking so crisp in all the videos I have seen online.

Since I am living in a small studio apartment, I do not have room for a massive 55-inch OLED TV. I am looking for a solid 27 to 32-inch monitor that fits on my desk but still gives me that wow factor. My budget is a bit tight after buying the console and a couple of games, so I am trying to stay in the $300 to $450 range if possible. I have been doing some research, but it is honestly overwhelming with all the different specs and model numbers.

Here is what I am specifically hoping to find:

• At least one HDMI 2.1 port so I can actually use the 120Hz mode in supported games like Call of Duty.
• Decent HDR support because I love those vibrant lighting effects, even though I know budget HDR is not always perfect.
• An IPS panel because I tend to shift around in my chair a lot and hate when the colors look weird from different angles.

I have looked at things like the Gigabyte M28U and some of the LG UltraGear models, but the prices seem to jump around a lot and I am not sure if there are better 2024 releases I should be waiting for. I am really worried about buying something that ends up having crazy backlight bleed or terrible response times. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable 4K monitor that hits that sweet spot for a PS5 user without costing more than the console itself?
