Is there any way to actually send my Walmart grocery list to my husbands phone so he can see it on his own app? Ive been using the app for years and usually I just do the pickup thing but today we're actually going into the store in Columbus to grab stuff for a party tonight and I cant find a share button anywhere. It seems like such a basic thing that should be in the list settings but I dont see it. I tried looking under the registry options too but that didnt help much. Do I really have to just screenshot the whole list and text it to him like its 2010? Its super frustrating because we both have the app installed but I cant figure out how to sync them up...

Honestly, it's pretty pathetic that the Walmart app still doesn't have a legit share button for lists. I’ve run into this same issue a dozen times trying to split the shopping with my husband and it's always a headache. Unfortunately, there is no direct way to sync two different accounts on separate phones for a single grocery list. It’s one of those basic features they just ignored while trying to push their subscription stuff on everyone. The only real "fix" within the app is to just have him log into your account on his phone. Use the same email and password. That’s the only way you’re gonna see the same items in the list in real-time. It’s not ideal if you dont want to share passwords, but it works. We had issues with it lagging sometimes tho, so make sure he refreshes the page once in a while so he doesn't miss anything you add last minute. If you're sick of the app being useless for this, I’d suggest moving the list to a third-party app like AnyList or even just a shared note on your iPhone. AnyList is way better for actual in-store shopping anyway because it sorts things by category automatically and the sync is instant. The basic version is free which is all you really need. Ngl, it’s frustrating having to use a separate app because Walmart can't get their act together, but it beats sending ten different screenshots and getting a bunch of texts asking where the milk is.

Saw this today and had to chime in because Ive dealt with this exact mess for years. Over the years Ive tried everything to make the Walmart app behave. Honestly, the most secure way people suggest is just sharing your login info, but Im always cautious about that because it links your payment methods and order history... its too risky imo. Then theres the screenshot method you mentioned... total nightmare when the list is long and you're trying to keep track of whats already in the cart. I finally got fed up and started using Easy Cart Share. It basically bridges that gap so I can send the list over without giving him my full account access. Its way more reliable than relying on Walmarts buggy interface which seems to change every two weeks anyway. I prefer it over generic to-do apps since its actually grocery-focused. Worth checking out if you're tired of that 2010 screenshot vibe.

Been thinking about your list sync issue for a bit... just curious, are you guys both on the same OS or is it a mix like iPhone and Android? Sometimes the backend metadata for the My Items section doesnt communicate right if the app versions are even slightly off. You might want to consider being careful with how you handle login sharing too, cause it can trigger those annoying 2FA prompts while one of you is already in the cereal aisle. Quick tip tho, I personally use Easy Cart Share when I need to push my cart data to my partners phone. Its basically the only way to avoid the whole screenshot mess. Just make sure to refresh the page right before you enter the store so the prices stay current. Its definitely more cost-effective than accidentally buying double the party supplies because the sync failed halfway through.

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.

Re: "Honestly, it's pretty pathetic that the Walmart app..."

  • Yeah, I totally get the frustration, but my wife and I found a workaround that we've been using for over two years now and honestly, I have no complaints. It works so well for our weekly shopping runs and keeps us perfectly in sync. Here is how my current setup works:
  • We keep a shared list in a basic cloud notes app that we both can edit.
  • We add items throughout the week so it updates in real time.
  • One of us grabs the cart, the other grabs the basket, and we cross things off as we go. It is super satisfying to see items disappear from the list while I'm on the other side of the store. We even used a handy holiday tool to coordinate our big family feast last year and it worked beautifully. Let me know if you want any help setting up something similar, I can easily walk you through how we do it!

Building on the earlier suggestion, the Walmart apps architecture is incredibly limited because it lacks a shared data protocol for their list module. Its a major disappointment compared to apps like Target or even Kroger that actually understand how modern families shop together. Unfortunately, their dev team seems more focused on the Plus subscription than basic UX functionality. Since the native app is basically a walled garden, you really only have a few functional options:

  • AnyList: This is the gold standard for grocery sync and handles cross-platform updates instantly.
  • Bring!: A solid visual alternative that lets you create shared circles for specific stores.
  • Shared Notes: The old school way of just using a shared iCloud or Google Keep note. The Walmart app is basically only useful for checking aisle locations and inventory at this point. For actual list management, its a total letdown. I usually just set a target price on PriceDropCatch and it pings me when the price actually hits that mark.
