What is the absolute best app or tool right now to track Walmart price drops in real-time?

My daughter's birthday is in exactly two weeks and she is desperate for this specific Lego Star Wars set and a new ride-on toy. My budget is super tight this month because of some unexpected plumbing issues at our house in Ohio, and I've been watching the prices on Walmart.com like a hawk, but they keep fluctuating when I'm asleep or at work. I need to buy these by next Thursday at the latest to make sure they arrive in time for her party.

I did some digging online before posting and saw a lot of people recommending Honey and Capital One Shopping. But when I tried setting up alerts on Honey, it seemed super delayed. Like, it notified me about a price drop on the Lego set three hours after it had already gone back up to retail price. Then I read about BrickSeek because apparently it's the gold standard for Walmart, but some forum threads from last month said BrickSeek doesn't really work for online price drops anymore, only in-store clearance, and even that is super inaccurate now since Walmart changed their system.

I'm just so confused because half the budget blogs say use Keepa, but Keepa is only for Amazon, right? And others swear by CamelCamelCamel which also seems Amazon-only. I need something specific to Walmart online that actually sends push notifications or text alerts the second the price dips. I can't afford to keep missing these flash sales because I was offline for an hour.

Does anyone know an app that actually works for this?

Unfortunately, you are spot on about BrickSeek. It used to be the absolute gold standard for Walmart inventory and pricing, but their system updates over the last year completely gutted its usefulness. I had issues with it showing items in stock at clearance prices when the shelves had been empty for weeks. It is just not as good as expected anymore and basically useless for online tracking. The same goes for Honey, unfortunately. Their scraper is way too slow for hot items like Lego Star Wars sets, which sell out in minutes when they discount them. Honestly, since the dedicated Walmart trackers are pretty much dead, the only reliable method I have found is using a browser extension called Distill.io.

  • You set it up to watch the specific price element on the Walmart product page.
  • It checks the page directly from your browser (or cloud) every few minutes.
  • It sends an audio alert or email the second the HTML code changes. It is a bit more technical to set up than an app, but it is the only way to get true real-time alerts now that Walmart has blocked most third-party API trackers. Anything else is going to lag by hours, and you will keep missing the sales.

Yes, absolutely agree that simple page monitors are the safest way to go! I love this approach because I'm always paranoid about sharing my personal data with those big coupon apps. Last Christmas, I set up a basic local tracker on my PC to watch a toy kitchen. It worked incredibly fast! I grabbed the deal instantly without risking my account security. Definitely keep it local to protect your budget and data!

Re: Brickseek is dead. Over the years I've tried many, these actually work:

  • PriceDropCatch (instant alerts)
  • WebAlert (tracks page changes) Good luck with the birthday shopping!
