sorry if this is a dumb question but im trying to upgrade for cs2 and people keep saying i need a 1440p 240hz screen. my budget is like $500 max but i have no idea which brands are actually good or what those numbers even mean lol... is there one that everyone just uses?

> my budget is like $500 max Regarding what Donald said, the MSI is a decent budget pick, but in my experience, the LG 27GR83B-B 27-inch UltraGear QHD 240Hz is a step up for motion handling. I've tried many panels over the years and for CS2, response time is everything. If you're still confused by the numbers, head over to RTINGS or check out Monitors Unboxed on YouTube. They do the deep dives on response times which is what actually matters for competitive shooters. Basically, 240Hz is the speed, but if the ghosting is bad, it wont feel smooth. The Gigabyte M27Q X 27-inch 1440p 240Hz is another one to look at. It's usually right around $400 and holds up well. Just make sure your PC can actually push those frames at 1440p or the monitor wont be doing much for you.
