Im really confused about how this walmart pickup thing works and Im super stressed about it because I have to get my groceries done by tomorrow night or my kids will have nothing for school lunches. My budget is strictly $150 this week and Im really trying to stick to it so I dont overdraw. My sister is trying to help me from her house because she has better internet than me but I dont know if we can both look at the same cart at the same time? Like if she adds milk can I see it on my phone right away or is it just a one-time link thing? I sent her the link but it looks like a dead page on her end or something. Im so sorry if this is a dumb question but I just have no idea where to start and I dont want to accidentally buy everything twice and spend $300 by mistake.

Here is what I am trying to figure out:

  • can we both add stuff at the exact same time
  • do we have to use the same login or is the link enough
  • will it show me if she changes the brand of something I picked
  • does the link expire after a few hours

Im just really worried Im gonna mess this up and end up at the store with no food because I didnt click the right thing. Has anyone actually done this before without it breaking?

In my experience, those shared links are super buggy. Just use the same login on both phones instead:

  • Log into the same account
  • Refresh to see live updates

^ This. Also, Walmarts sharing tool is unfortunately super glitchy. I tried using it with my husband last month and it kept losing half our cart, which was so frustrating. We ended up using this Chrome extension to sync our shopping lists instead. TL;DR: Walmarts built-in sharing is broken, stick to one login. Are you trying to watch the budget total update in real-time, or do you just need her to send you specific items?

Are you both trying to do this on mobile data or home broadband? I ask because high latency might cause session timeouts with Walmarts backend API. Honestly, it reminds me of when I spent a weekend flashing custom DD-WRT firmware on an old Linksys router just to track packet loss and try to lower my ISP bill. Anyway sorry kinda went off topic there lol
