im honestly so fed up with my current monitor right now. playing valorant and cs2 has been a nightmare lately because the ghosting is just unreal and i keep missing shots i swear i should be hitting. like, things are literally blurring when i flick my mouse fast and its driving me crazy. im in the US and trying to keep it under 400 bucks if possible, maybe pick something up this weekend since my setup is practically unusable for comp play at this point. what is actually the best gaming monitor right now for fast fps stuff where motion blur isnt gonna make me want to throw my keyboard out the window?

i totally feel your pain on this one. ghosting in val and cs2 is honestly the worst, i used to blame my aim till i realized my old screen was just smearing everything during fast flicks. for under 400 bucks right now, check out these two:

  • Acer Nitro XV272U Vbmiiprx 27 - great colors and super fast response time, but the stand feels kinda wobbly and cheap tbh.
  • ASUS TUF Gaming VG259QM 24.5 - amazing motion handling for the price and zero ghosting when you tweak the OD settings, though text clarity outside of games is just okay. personally i had issues with motion blur on my older budget panel until switching to something with proper backlight stroking. go with the asus if you want pure competitive edge.

Building on the earlier suggestion, you gotta look at the AOC 24G2SP 23.8 Gaming Monitor because it is an absolute beast for the price. I picked one up last month and my flicks in Val are finally crisp without any annoying smearing! Another amazing option is the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27 Gaming Monitor if you want that extra screen real estate, though it pushes right to your budget limit. Seriously, either of these will fix your ghosting issues instantly!

Ghosting is seriously the worst when youre trying to hold an angle in cs2. Im not 100% sure which exact panels are hitting that under 400 price point right now since specs change so fast, but have you checked if your current panel is running at its max refresh rate in windows settings? Sounds dumb, but a buddy of mine played on 60hz for a whole year before realizing. Also what kind of gpu are you pushing frames with? Might help narrow down if you need free-sync or g-sync compatibility before pulling the trigger on something new this weekend.
