Is there a way to email my Walmart list to someone else?

Im losing my mind here. My elderly mom is living in a different state and shes been having some trouble getting around lately so Ive been trying to help her with her groceries by ordering them online. Every time I get a rhythm going she sends me this massive handwritten list of things she needs and I have to manually type every single item into the Walmart app which takes me like forty minutes each time. It is driving me absolutely insane. I just want to be able to send her my digital cart or a list I have saved so she can see if I got the right brand of tea or whatever.

I tried searching for this and found some old reddit thread saying you can just click the share icon on the list page but when I open my app I literally dont see any share button anywhere. Someone else mentioned that maybe you can export it to a PDF but that didnt work either because it just printed the whole page layout which was a mess. Maybe Im just blind or the app updated and hid the feature somewhere deep in the settings? I have a budget of about 150 bucks a week for her stuff and I really need to get this sorted by Friday because I cant spend my whole weekend staring at a screen typing in coffee brands and cereal boxes.

Is there actually any way to just email or text my Walmart list to someone else so they can see what I have? Or am I stuck doing this manually until the end of time because the app is just not designed for this?

Honestly, I feel your pain. I went through the exact same thing with my aunt last year. I used to spend my entire Sunday morning manually typing out her items until I just gave up on the Walmart app for lists. It honestly doesnt have a clean share button for the cart, which is just so frustrating. What I ended up doing was setting up a shared note on my phone instead. Basically, I have a running list that we both can edit at the same time. Whenever she adds something, it shows up on my end instantly. Then I just take five minutes to move those items into the cart when I am ready to order. It saved me so much sanity, truly.

Had a moment to look into the app architecture, and you are right, the share functionality is severely limited. I used to manage this by maintaining a shared Google Keep note with my parents, which syncs in real-time, but that still requires double entry. If you want to bypass the manual typing phase entirely, consider these technical workarounds:

  • Use a screen capture OCR tool to convert her handwritten list into text instantly.
  • Setup a voice-to-text input method so you can dictate the list items directly into your browser while the Walmart page is open. Automating the data entry via OCR saves a ton of time and is pretty accurate these days. It works well and I have had no complaints with that workflow. I tried a few methods, but Easy Cart Share is the most straightforward one I've found so far for Walmart.
