Is there a way to share my Walmart shopping cart with my husband?

So we have this massive family reunion coming up next Friday here in Austin and I am trying to get our grocery order sorted early so I dont forget anything. My budget is around 300 bucks which sounds like a lot but for 15 people its actually tight lol. I am doing the main shopping on the Walmart app but I really need my husband to look at what I have in there and add his own stuff for the BBQ part.

I did some searching online and found two conflicting things:

  • some people say you can just share your login info
  • others say you have to use the Registry feature

Sharing the login feels super clunky because we always get hit with those verification codes on our phones and he is never around when I need the code. And the registry thing seems like it is for weddings? I am confused if a shared list is the same thing as the actual shopping cart or if I have to manually move everything over item by item once he is done looking at it. That sounds like a total headache and I am worried things will get missed.

Is there actually a way to just have one shared cart that we can both see and edit live on our own phones or am I stuck just passing my phone back and forth like it is 2005?

Honestly, its kinda annoying that Walmart still hasn't fixed this properly. Been using the app for years for big cookouts and they make it way harder than it needs to be. You are basically stuck with a few mediocre workarounds since they dont have a simple share button.

  • Shared login is the only way to see the actual live cart together, but those 2FA codes are a nightmare if you arent in the same room.
  • Lists are fine for brainstorming, but yeah, you gotta manually move everything to the cart later. It is a total slog.
  • The registry trick is way too much work for a BBQ, tbh I wouldnt bother with it. Before I suggest a specific workflow, are you planning on doing a store pickup or is this for a delivery? Also, do you both use iPhones or are you on Android? Some of the list-sharing features act weird depending on the phone you use.
