Which browser extension works best for Walmart inventory checks?

I am honestly so stressed out right now because I am moving into my new place in North Austin in exactly eight days and I have been trying to hunt down this specific 65-inch Hisense TV that is supposed to be on massive clearance. I have literally driven to four different Walmarts in the last forty-eight hours because the main website says limited stock but every time I get there the employees just stare at me and say they dont have it in the back. My budget is incredibly tight after paying the security deposit and first months rent so I really need to snag this deal before the sale ends or someone else grabs the last one in the area.

I started looking into tools to stop me from wasting gas and time because this is getting ridiculous. I am torn between a few options right now and I dont know which one is actually reliable for local store inventory specifically.

  • BrickSeek: This seems to be the one everyone mentions first but I have noticed the free version is super slow to update and I heard they might not have the same access to Walmart data that they used to? I really dont want to pay for a premium membership if the data is just gonna be wrong anyway.
  • Walmart Inventory Checker chrome extension: I saw this one mentioned on a deal forum and people say it pulls from the actual store handheld system data or something like that. It sounds way more accurate but the interface looks kinda old and I am worried about whether it actually works in 2024 or if it is just abandoned.
  • Stockly: I found this one too but I cant tell if it is meant for local store shelf stock or just for tracking when things come back in stock on the actual website which doesnt help me for the clearance stuff hidden in the aisles.

I am leaning toward the chrome extension because people claim it shows the exact number of units on hand but I am terrified of driving another thirty miles just to find out the count is off by one and that one is probably a floor model or stolen. Does anyone have experience with which one of these actually shows the most up to date numbers for local stores? I really need to get this sorted by the weekend so I can actually have a TV for move-in day...

Honestly, I've been super happy with that chrome extension you mentioned. I used it last month to find some outdoor furniture and it worked well for me with no complaints. Basically, it shows you the raw inventory data from their internal system which is way better than the generic limited stock junk on the main site. Just a huge heads up tho... be really careful if the count says 1 or 2. Usually that means it's a display model, a return that shouldn't be sold, or it just got stolen and the system hasn't caught up. I always look for a store showing at least 3 in stock before I waste the gas. Also, try the Walmart app in Store Mode once you get close... sometimes it gives you the specific aisle which saves a ton of time. Good luck with the move, North Austin traffic is the worst!

I saw this thread late but honestly... I've gotta disagree with the others a bit. I tried using that specific Walmart extension for some home stuff last month and it was really not as good as expected. Unfortunately, the data just lags too much now and the counts are almost always off because of shoplifting or returns. It's super frustrating to waste gas money when things are tight. Basically, you're probably better off just sticking with any general deal tracker from this site to see price drops and then calling the electronics desk directly. Dont rely 100% on the on hand numbers because they're often wrong. If you can't find that exact one, just get any budget TV from Hisense at a different shop... they're usually pretty affordable everywhere. I really hope you get it sorted before the move, moving is a nightmare.

Look, ive been doing this since the early days of clearance hunting and honestly, you gotta be really careful with those numbers. The Walmart Inventory Checker extension is still your best bet because it scrapes the API that shows the on-hand count, which is what the employees see on their handhelds. But listen, if it says 1 or 2, just assume it isnt there. It could be a display unit, a return that hasnt been processed, or even stolen. BrickSeek has definitely lost some of its edge lately with how Walmart restricted their data access. Id suggest sticking to the extension but only drive out if it shows at least 3 in stock to be safe. You might also want to try calling the electronics department directly and asking them to physically lay eyes on it before you leave. Moving is stressful enough without the wild goose chases! Honestly, I just use PriceDropCatch to keep an eye on things I want since Walmart prices change so fast.
