Is BrickSeek even worth using anymore for Walmart inventory because honestly I'm about to lose my mind with how inaccurate it has been lately. I have been trying to track down a specific set of patio furniture for my deck—I’ve got about a $400 budget and I saw it listed at a store about 45 minutes away in Mansfield for half off on the site. I drove all the way out there yesterday because it said 6 in stock and when I got there the manager told me they hadn't had that SKU in the building since last summer. Like how is it that far off?
It’s not just a one-time thing either. Last week I was looking for some specific motor oil that was supposedly on clearance for $5 and the site said they had 12 bottles but the shelf was bone dry and the handheld scanner the employee used showed zero. I feel like I'm chasing ghosts at this point. I remember a couple years ago it was like magic and you could actually trust the numbers but now it feels like a total coin flip every time I check a local zip code.
Is there something else people are using now that actually works? I heard Walmart blocked a bunch of the data scrapers these sites use which makes sense I guess but it sucks for those of us trying to find a deal. I'm trying to get all my gardening gear ready for the spring and I dont want to spend my entire Saturday driving to three different counties just to find out a website lied to me. I even tried calling the store before I left but nobody ever picks up the phone in the electronics or garden departments anyway so that was a dead end. Is the paid version of BrickSeek any better or is it just the same bad data with a price tag attached? Or maybe there's a different app or even a Discord server that's more up to date? Im just tired of the limited stock lie and wasting half a tank of gas on a wild goose chase...
Ngl it's basically a gamble now with BrickSeek. Walmart restricted their data so the numbers are usually stale. I've had much better results just using a Walmart price tracker to monitor the local inventory changes. Go with any tool from the Slickdeals brand and you'll probably have a better experience. They're way more accurate for checking clearance items lately. Let me know if you need more help with the garden hunt!
