> Regarding what #1 said about "In my experience, you really want to prioritize..." Unfortunately, I had some annoying issues with the M28U build quality, and it wasnt quite as good as expected for the price. Are you more into fast-paced shooters or cinematic games? If you want better response times, the LG 27GP850-B 27-inch Ultragear QHD 165Hz is way more reliable than budget 4K screens. Just trying to save you some headache...

In my experience, you really want to prioritize two things for the PS5: 4K resolution and HDMI 2.1 support. Since you have about $450, the absolute best bang for your buck right now is the Gigabyte M28U 28-inch 4K 144Hz Gaming Monitor. I have spent a lot of time testing different IPS panels over the years, and this specific model handles the PS5 features like a champ without breaking your budget. To clear up the confusion about hertz (Hz), it is basically the refresh rate. Think of it as how many times the screen redraws the image every second. Since the PS5 can output at 120Hz, you need a monitor that can keep up, or you are basically leaving performance on the table. Without HDMI 2.1, most 4K monitors will cap you at 60Hz, which makes fast games like Call of Duty feel way less responsive than they should be. I have tried many budget options, but the M28U is special because it includes Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. This is crucial because it prevents screen tearing when the game's frame rate dips during heavy action. Honestly, dont overthink the 144Hz label too much since the PS5 won't go past 120Hz anyway, but having that headroom ensures a very clean image. Just make sure you use the high-speed HDMI cable that came in the console box to get the full signal.

Honestly, I am stuck on this exact choice too!

  • Someone told me about panel lottery issues?
  • Not sure if 4K is worth the premium... Spec hunting is basically a sport!
