So I finally got a PS5 for my birthday last week and I am so hyped to play it but honestly my old TV in my room is like ten years old and it looks kind of blurry. I keep hearing people talk about 144Hz and how it makes the movement really smooth especially for shooters like CoD which I love playing. The thing is I literally have no idea what I am looking for or what any of these numbers mean like what is HDMI 2.1 even for? Is that something I need? I went to Best Buy and the guy was trying to explain it but I just got more confused because there were so many options on the shelf and they all looked the same to me.
I have about 350 dollars saved up from my job at the mall and I want to get something that will actually make the PS5 look good before my vacation starts in two weeks. Sorry if this is a really basic question but I am totally lost with all the tech talk and just want a screen that works well with the console without breaking. Does anyone know which 144Hz monitor is actually the best one for a beginner like me? I dont want to buy the wrong thing and waste my money...
> Is that something I need? Not really, standard HDMI handles 120Hz fine. Im happy with the LG 27GP850-B 27 inch Ultragear QHD for my setup. Do you have space for a 27 or 32 inch screen?
Saw this and wanted to chime in because i almost made a huge mistake with my own PS5 setup last year. I bought a screen that looked great on paper but had terrible overshoot which made fast games like CoD look like a blurry mess... it was basically unplayable. You really gotta watch out for cheap VA panels that ghost. With 350 dollars, you have enough for a high-quality IPS panel that handles motion much better. HDMI 2.1 is mostly for 4K at 120Hz, but honestly, at 27 inches, 1440p looks incredible and saves you a ton of money. I would suggest looking at these specific models:
