i just got my first real pc to play valorant and csgo but im using this ancient tv screen right now and its honestly terrible. everything looks blurry and slow when i turn and my friends say i need a fast monitor but i dont even know what that means. i keep seeing stuff about refresh rates and response times and it just confuses me so much sorry if this is a stupid question. i have around 275 dollars to spend and i really need to get something by next week because i have a match coming up. i live in a small town so i have to order it online probably. what should i actually buy that wont lag?...
You really need 144Hz for competitive play. Grab the AOC 24G2SP 24 Inch 165Hz IPS.
Like someone mentioned, 1080p is best for speed. Check the Gigabyte G24F 2 24-inch 165Hz IPS since its cheap and really fast for Valorant tho...
What gpu are you running in that new pc? Knowing that helps with picking the right sync tech. Since you're playing CS and Val, you might actually be able to push 240Hz. Take a look at the ViewSonic XG2431 24-inch 240Hz IPS Gaming Monitor if you find a deal, it has insane motion blur reduction. Otherwise the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A 23.8 165Hz IPS is a solid budget pick that wont break the bank.
