Which gaming monitor is best for an RTX 4080 build?

Should I go with the LG 34GP950G or the Alienware AW3423DWF for an RTX 4080 build? I finally pulled the trigger on the card last week and now im looking for a screen to actually take advantage of it but im stuck. The Alienware OLED looks insane for stuff like Cyberpunk and Flight Sim but I use this monitor for work too and the whole burn in thing with static excel sheets scares me a bit. Budget is around 900 bucks max and I need to buy it before Sunday. Plus my desk is tiny so 34 inches is the absolute limit. Is the OLED risk worth it for the 4080 or should I just stick to the IPS panel and play it safe?

I've spent way too much time staring at subpixel layouts and honestly, you might want to consider the text clarity issues before pulling the trigger. I actually set up a QD-OLED for a friend recently who did heavy data entry and we had to return it. The triangular subpixel structure on the Alienware AW3423DWF 34 inch QD-OLED creates this weird green or magenta fringing on high-contrast edges, which makes Excel text look pretty fuzzy... its kinda distracting for long shifts. A few technical things to be careful with:Text rendering artifacts in Windows due to non-standard pixel geometryAggressive ABL dimming your screen whenever you maximize a bright white spreadsheetStatic UI elements in work apps causing uneven pixel aging over a couple years I would suggest the LG 34GP950G-B 34 inch UltraGear Nano IPS instead. It doesnt have the perfect blacks but the text clarity is night and day for productivity. That 4080 will still look killer at high refresh rates plus you wont have to hide your taskbar constantly.

In my experience, playing it safe is the way to go when you use the same screen for work. I've tried many setups over the years and once i got a panel that was prone to image retention... it was a nightmare for my daily productivity. honestly the anxiety isnt worth it.

peace of mind is worth more than perfect blacks

static elements like taskbars are a real killer

id definitely go with the safer choice here
