Im trying to figure out the best way to get a digital Christmas list to my family without it turning into a total mess. My brother is tech-illiterate and my mom is convinced that anything online is gonna get hacked so I need something super simple. I looked at Giftster because a few blogs said it was the gold standard for families, but then I saw some reviews complaining about ads and data privacy issues which honestly sounds like a headache I dont need for this year. My logic was to just use a shared Google Doc but then I thought about how everyone usually forgets to check it or accidentally deletes someone elses entry which is just bound to happen with my crazy cousins.
I also checked out Elfster but it seems like it forces a secret santa vibe which we dont really need since we just want a master list for everyone. We are trying to keep this totally free since we have 15 people in the group and a tight budget for the actual gifts themselves. Are there any super basic apps or sites that dont require everyone to sign up for five different accounts just to see what I want? Im just stressed because I promised to get this link out by Sunday and I have zero clue what path to take...
Honestly, avoid shared docs if you want to keep your sanity. People will definitely edit over each other. I would suggest using this free wishlist creator because it keeps things isolated. Be careful about privacy settings, though. Make sure you set the lists to private so only family members can view them. Just provide the link, tell them no account is needed for viewing, and you should be golden.
