im so over getting random clutter every year that i just end up donating. my logic for option a was to just blast out an amazon wishlist to the group chat but i feel like a jerk doing that. then i thought about telling my sister to act as a gatekeeper so people have to ask her what i need but honestly she is so disorganized it might fail. i moved into this tiny apartment in portland and i literally have zero shelf space left so i need to be super specific about what comes in here. is the direct list better or should i try the middle-man approach... i just dont want people wasting money on stuff i wont use.

Are your folks tech savvy? Be careful, my uncle bought a cheap knockoff from a bad link once. You might want to consider Share Product Wishlist for better security.

To add to the point above: i had issues with the middle-man strategy and unfortunately it was a total mess. my sister just forgot the details, so i still ended up with random clutter. not as good as expected, honestly. i've tried every trick for small spaces and just use Giftful now. you can list specific dimensions for your tiny place, so people dont waste money on things that wont fit.

i love the wishlist idea so much!! it is basically the only safe way to make sure you dont get stuck with stuff you hate. sending a direct link is fantastic because it eliminates all the guesswork and ensures you get exactly what fits in your tiny place. my family started doing this and it saved us so much stress! the only downside is some people might think its blunt, but seriously, its way better than wasting money. the sister idea sounds like a total disaster if she is disorganized tho. i wouldnt trust a middle-man with something this important! you need reliability when you have zero shelf space. just send the list with a nice message explaining the apartment situation. everyone will totally appreciate the clarity!! its the most secure way to avoid clutter!!
