I really need to figure this out by tonight because my parents and the in-laws are already blowing up my phone asking what the kids want for the holidays and I'm honestly panicking. We live in a tiny 2-bedroom in Seattle and I just cant deal with more massive plastic toys cluttering up the place like last year when we got three giant trucks we had no room for. I'm stuck between two ways to handle this without sounding like a total jerk.
First idea is an Amazon wishlist where I can put specific stuff that actually fits our space and doesn't make too much noise, but I'm worried it feels a bit like I'm just demanding they buy certain things which might offend my MIL who likes to be creative. The second option is just sending a casual group text with general categories like - outdoor gear - or - coloring books - but then I'm scared they will just go off-script and buy another huge play kitchen that we have zero floor space for. I need to give them an answer by tomorrow morning so they can actually shop in time before shipping deadlines. Which way do you think is less likely to cause family drama while still protecting my sanity and my living room floor?
> First idea is an Amazon wishlist where I can put specific stuff that actually fits our space In my experience, the wishlist is the most cost-effective way to manage inventory in a small home. Over the years, I've found lists prevent redundant purchases. To help you choose tho, I have a couple questions. Are your in-laws the type who strictly need a physical item to wrap? Also, would they be open to contributing to an experience fund instead?
