Can I share my Walmart shopping cart via a direct link?

Ive been using the Walmart app for years, basically since they started the whole grocery pickup and delivery thing here in Ohio and usually I have zero issues navigating the UI or managing my account but I have hit a wall with something that feels like it should be incredibly simple. Im currently organizing a small supply drive for a local shelter—we have a $450 budget from a small community grant—and I have spent the last two hours meticulously adding specific bulk items, toiletries, and non-perishables to my cart to make sure we stay under that limit.

The problem is that I really need the board members to sign off on the exact items and brands before I actually pull the trigger on the purchase and spend the money. In the past, Id just take a bunch of screenshots and send them over in a group chat, but with 50+ items in the cart right now, thats just a total nightmare to manage and way too much clutter for everyone. I was looking for some kind of share cart button or a way to generate a direct URL that I could just email over so they can see the live list. I know some other major retailers have a share this cart feature where it creates a temporary link for someone else to view or even take over the checkout process but I cant find anything like that here.

I tried looking through the account settings and even searched the help pages and the checkout screen, but I dont see anything obvious at all. Is there like a hidden workaround? Maybe a browser extension or a specific way to turn a list into a cart that someone else can access? I really dont want to have to manually type out a spreadsheet with all these product links if I can avoid it because my timeline is kind of tight to get these supplies delivered by Friday. It feels like such a basic thing for a major e-commerce site to have, so I am wondering if I am just missing a menu somewhere or if the mobile app is just more limited compared to the desktop site.

Does anyone know if there is a way to share my actual Walmart shopping cart via a direct link so someone else can see the items?

Honestly, Walmart is way behind on this. Youd think theyd have a simple share button by now, but nope. I hit the same wall a few months back while trying to organize a massive order for a family reunion. The UI looks clean but its lacking some pretty basic collaborative tools. Since youre on a deadline, dont waste time looking for a hidden setting because it just doesnt exist natively. What I usually do is use Easy Cart Share. It is a browser extension that lets you generate a link for your entire cart so other people can actually see what youve added. Its way more practical than sending 50 screenshots or manually typing out a list in Excel. Just make sure youre using your computer rather than the app, since extensions dont really work on mobile. It saves a ton of headache, especially when you need someone else to sign off on brands and prices before you drop $450. It gets the job done without the clutter.

Re: "TL;DR: No native link exists..."

  • Exactly. Honestly its ridiculous how these corporations ignore us.
  • Prices are insane.
  • Apps are broken. Easy Cart Share is the only reliable way tho...

^ This. Also, I was just reading through your situation and it reminds me of when I had to spec out a small server room build-out on a shoestring budget. Walmarts actually pretty solid for bulk tech and supplies if you know which house brands to trust. I have been really satisfied with how much further a budget goes when you compare their tiered pricing to Amazon or Target. For my last project, I managed to squeeze an extra 15 percent of volume into the budget just by timing the price drops and choosing their high-spec house brands. Before I dig into the best way to export that list for your board members, I gotta ask a quick clarifying question:

  • Are you strictly bound to those specific name brands you added?
  • Is the shelter okay with store-brand equivalents if it means getting more physical items?
  • Are these all coming from the same local store or a mix of shipping and pickup? Knowing that helps because some bulk items have different SKU patterns that affect how those third-party extensions scrape the data for sharing. Im generally happy with how easy it is to save money there once you get past the UI quirks. Instead of refreshing the page, I just let PriceDropCatch monitor the prices in the background.

TL;DR: No native link exists, unfortunately. I hit this same wall setting up a tech donation last year. I expected a simple export but Walmarts backend is pretty restrictive tbh. I ended up using the Share-A-Cart browser extension. It creates a code the board can plug in to see everything. Not as good as a direct link, but its the only real workaround Ive found.

Saw this thread late but I had to chime in. I have spent years managing the books for our local food pantry and the Walmart app is notoriously bad for this kind of thing. I am usually pretty cautious about using third-party extensions because I worry about account security, but when you have 50 items and a strict budget, you kinda have to find a workaround. In my experience, if you want things to stay reliable and not glitch out on your board members, here are a few things I have learned:

  • I eventually settled on the Share-A-Cart extension. I tried a few others that felt buggy or kept crashing, but this one has been the most stable for me over the years.
  • Make sure you check that everyone has the same home store set in their own Walmart accounts. If a board member is looking at a store ten miles away, the prices for those bulk items might change and mess up your $450 limit.
  • I always send the generated code to my own email first and open it in a private window. Its a good way to verify the list is actually live before you look unprofessional in front of the board. It is definitely a hassle but it beats the heck out of 50 screenshots... hope you get those supplies delivered on time.
