Im trying to stock up on some groceries and household stuff for my apartment in Chicago before the month ends, but prices have been killing my budget lately. I keep hearing about extensions to track price drops at Walmart. Ive been looking at Honey and Capital One Shopping, but honestly im not sure if one is actually better for tracking clearance items specifically. I also saw something called PriceBlink but I dont know if that is even legit. Is it worth installing all of these or should I just stick to one? Which one is actually gonna save me the most cash on everyday essentials right now?

Honestly, id be careful about stacking all those extensions at once. I tried having Honey and Capital One installed simultaneously and my browser basically crawled to a halt. Plus, some of those tracking tools feel kinda shady with your data.

  • Honey is hit or miss for Walmart specifically, its better for clothing sites.
  • PriceBlink feels pretty outdated honestly, ive had issues with it not actually flagging active sales. IIRC, Capital One Shopping is usually the most reliable for those automated coupon codes, but finding real clearance gems is still mostly manual work. None of them are magic bullets. If you want to actually save, check out BrickSeek instead. It feels a bit clunky but its way more accurate for finding local stock and hidden markdowns than any browser extension ive ever used. Just dont expect miracles.

To add to the point above: dont bother cluttering your browser with a million tools. In my experience, most of these extensions struggle with Walmart specifically because their inventory changes so fast. Stick to just one or two if you really want to save. Here is how I rank them after testing:

  • Capital One Shopping: Best for price comparison across different sellers, but it can be annoying with notifications.
  • Honey: Solid for finding coupon codes, though the price history chart for Walmart is often outdated.
  • PriceBlink: It feels a bit dated and clunky compared to the others, so I usually skip it. Honestly, your best bet is to check BrickSeek for actual inventory tracking. It helps you see which nearby stores in Chicago have marked down items so you arent chasing ghosts online.
