So I was at the Supercenter over in Henderson yesterday trying to stock up on some pantry staples because my grocery budget has been absolutely trashed lately, and I started staring at these yellow clearance tags. I feel like half the time they arent even actually cheaper than the regular price?

I read on some deal blog that you should look for tags ending in 0 or 1 because those are supposedly the final markdowns, but then I saw a post on Reddit claiming that at Walmart those codes dont always mean what people say they mean and that corporate just changes them whenever. Its super confusing. I just want to know if Im actually saving money or if Im getting tricked by the sticker color. Like, is there a secret way to tell if it is a real price drop or just some weird store trick to make me grab stuff I dont need before my rent is due next week? I feel like im losing my mind wandering the aisles trying to decode these things...

Honestly, those yellow tags are a total gamble. I worked retail for years and most of the time they're just pushing inventory. If you really wanna save, look for the clearance endcaps. If a price ends in .00 or .01, thats usually the final mark down. Otherwise, stick to your list and use an app like BrickSeek to check the real local stock prices before you even leave your house.
