So I have been eyeing this massive 75 inch TV at my local Walmart here in Ohio for like three weeks now. My budget is pretty tight because I am trying to save for a wedding later this year, but this TV is for my gaming setup and I really dont want to pay full price if I dont have to. I keep checking the app every single morning but its honestly becoming a huge chore and I feel like Im gonna miss out if it randomly goes on clearance or something.
I tried doing some reading online to see if there is an official price alert feature. I found a couple of blog posts that say Walmart has an automated system for price changes but then I saw a bunch of reddit comments from last year claiming that Walmart basically gutted all their notification features because they want people in the store browsing. Its super confusing because the app has a save to list button, but it doesnt seem to actually do anything regarding price updates. Half the people say you have to use third party sites like BrickSeek or Honey to track this stuff, while others swear that the app sends push notifications if you have items added to your favorites list.
Does anyone actually know if Walmart sends an alert if an item in your cart or favorites list drops in price? I just dont want to keep refreshing the page manually like a crazy person if it doesnt do anything. I really dont want to set up an account on some random sketchy coupon site if I dont have to, but at this point I feel like I might just be wasting my time watching the app. Has anyone actually gotten a notification from the app recently, or am I just setting myself up for disappointment?
To add to the point above: unfortunately, the app just isnt reliable for tracking price changes. I really havent had any luck with it lately. Maybe try CamelCamelCamel for better tracking instead.
Honestly, don't count on the Walmart app for alerts. I tried that for months and it never pinged me once. It is super frustrating. If you really want a solid TV, honestly just stick to a brand like Sony or LG. They are way more reliable anyway.
