What stylus is actually the best value for an iPad right now because I'm totally overwhelmed? I need something by Monday since my semester in Seattle starts then and I really dont want to drop $130 on an Apple Pencil 2 if I dont have to.

I looked at the Logitech Crayon and those cheap $20 pens on Amazon but I'm seeing mixed reviews. Some say the cheap ones lack pressure sensitivity which is fine for notes but others say they just stop working after a week or scratch the screen. I'm mostly just doing heavy note taking in Goodnotes for my bio class. Is there a middle ground under $50 that actually lasts or am I gonna regret not buying the real thing...

I totally get being nervous about those super cheap Amazon pens! I actually tried a random $15 one last year and it literally died right in the middle of my chemistry lab... I was so stressed trying to find a pen to finish my notes! After that, I did a ton of research because I really wanted something reliable but I'm also super careful with my money. I ended up getting the Zagg Pro Stylus for iPad with Dual Tip and Palm Rejection and it has been absolutely amazing for my bio notes!! Here is why I love it:

  • It costs way less than the Apple Pencil, usually around $50 if you catch a sale.
  • The battery life is fantastic and it charges via USB-C which is so convenient.
  • It has palm rejection so you wont accidentally mess up your pages in Goodnotes!
  • It feels much sturdier and safer than those generic $20 brands. Honestly, if you want to avoid that huge price tag but still feel safe that it wont die on you, this is the one! Good luck with your semester in Seattle!

Honestly, if youre starting school in Seattle on Monday, you might wanna just head over to YouTube and search for something like best cheap ipad stylus for note taking 2024. I remember seeing a really thorough comparison video a few weeks ago, basically the first result, and it was super helpful because you can actually see people writing on the screen. Its way better than reading random reviews that might be fake or outdated. Just be careful with a few things while you dig:

  • check the latest Reddit threads in the iPad subreddit
  • look for videos showing long term nib wear
  • make sure the shipping is actually fast enough for Monday Searching tonight is probably your best bet to find something that actually lasts. Tech moves way too fast, and you really dont want to end up with a brick that doesnt even work with your specific iPad model for that bio class.
