Ugh so I am literally about to pull my hair out trying to find a case that actually works. I am getting an iPad for my son for our trip to New York next Thursday and I need something that can survive a drop because he is basically a human wrecking ball. I spent like three hours looking at stuff online last night and I am just more confused now than when I started lol. I saw everyone saying the OtterBox Defender is the gold standard but honestly it looks so freaking chunky and heavy like it would double the weight of the thing and I dont want it to be a chore to carry around the airport. Then I looked at the UAG cases but some of the reviews say the plastic feels cheap for how much they charge and that the screen protection is basically non-existent.

Im on a bit of a budget too because the iPad itself was expensive so I really dont want to spend more than $50 on a case if I can help it. I just want something that has actual drop protection but isnt a total brick. Is there like a middle ground brand that makes good stuff for any model? Every best of list just points to the same three brands and half of them look like paid ads anyway. What are you guys actually using that doesnt break the bank but still keeps the screen from shattering the first time it hits the floor?
