Hey everyone! I’ve started using my iPad a lot more for digital illustration and video editing lately, especially when I’m out at coffee shops or commuting. While the battery life is decent, it definitely doesn't last the whole day when I'm running heavy apps like Procreate or LumaFusion, and I'm tired of constantly hunting for a wall outlet.

I’ve been browsing options online, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the technical specs. Since iPads have significantly larger batteries than iPhones, I know I need a power bank with high capacity, but I’m also concerned about the charging speed. I want to make sure the portable charger supports Power Delivery (PD) so I’m not stuck waiting hours just to get a 20% boost.

Ideally, I’m looking for something that can charge an iPad Pro or Air at least once or twice fully without being too bulky to carry in a backpack. I’ve seen brands like Anker and Baseus mentioned, but I'm not sure if a 30W output is enough or if I should look for 45W or even 65W to keep up with the power draw while I'm actually using the device.

In your experience, what do you think is the best power bank for charging an iPad quickly and reliably while on the go?

I've had issues with 30W chargers not keeping up while editing. You basically need 65W PD. Grab Baseus Adaman 65W 20000mAh Power Bank for $45, its lowkey the best budget pick tbh.

Looking at the current market landscape, you've really gotta prioritize PD 3.0 standards and GaN tech if you're doing heavy lifting in LumaFusion. A lot of people overlook the fact that while a modern iPad Pro can peak around 30-35W, it'll often hover right at that limit under heavy load, meaning a 30W charger might just barely keep the battery level steady rather than actually charging it. Honestly, the gold standard for reliability and performance right now is the Anker 737 Power Bank (PowerCore 24K). It’s a bit of an investment, but it uses high-end GaN technology and has a smart digital display that shows you exactly how many watts your iPad is pulling in real-time. If you want something slightly more compact but still high-performance, the Ugreen Nexode 100W 20000mAh Power Bank is a solid alternative. It handles the handshake protocols very efficiently, so you don't get those annoying disconnects. Basically, you want that 60W+ headroom so the internal components don't thermal throttle while you're working. It’s all about sustained power delivery without the brick getting scorching hot...
