What screen protector is actually the best for an iPad these days? I am finally upgrading to the new 11 inch Pro next week for my freelance illustration work and I am honestly terrified of scratching that expensive glass right out of the box.
I did some digging online and everyone seems to swear by Paperlike if youre an artist but then I read a ton of reviews saying it totally kills the screen clarity and makes everything look rainbow-y and fuzzy. Plus apparently it eats through Apple Pencil tips like crazy? That sounds like a total nightmare for a long term thing. I also looked at the Spigen tempered glass stuff which seems solid for protection but I am worried the glare is gonna be unbearable since I usually work at a local cafe here in Seattle with really bright overhead lights and big windows.
I have about 40 dollars set aside for this but I am just stuck. Is there something out there that gives you that nice tactile feel for drawing without making the beautiful display look like garbage? Or should I just go naked and hope for the best? I have never been good at applying these things either so if it has one of those alignment frames that would be a huge plus. Just really want to get it right the first time so I dont waste money...
unfortunately, i had issues with paperlike too. it is not as good as expected and totally kills the retina clarity. honestly, i switched to the ESR Magnetic Paper-Feel Screen Protector for iPad Pro 11-inch and it is a game changer. you just snap it on when drawing and peel it off for movies. it basically solves the fuzzy screen problem since it isnt permanent. way less stress than trying to align a sticky one too.
Building on the earlier suggestion, Mothca Matte Glass Screen Protector iPad Pro 11 is literally amazing! I used it for months without scratches. Grab PencilMate Metal Replacement Tips too for a fantastic feel!
