Which PSU should I buy for a Ryzen 7 and RTX 4070?

Im putting together a build with a Ryzen 7 7700X and a RTX 4070, but picking a power supply is driving me crazy. I dont wanna cheap out and fry my system, but I also dont want to spend 200 bucks if I dont have to.

I was looking at some gold rated 750W units, specifically the Corsair RM750e, but then I read a few threads on Reddit where people said you should really go 850W to give yourself headroom for future upgrades. My logic was that since the 4070 is actually pretty power efficient, 750W should be plenty, but now Im doubting myself. Then I saw a deal on a Tier A unit, but the cables look way too stiff for my micro-atx case and Im worried about the cable management nightmare.

Im in the UK so my budget is roughly 100-120 quid. I need to order this by Friday so I can build it over the weekend. Does the 100W difference actually matter for my specific setup or am I just overthinking the headroom thing? Is it worth grabbing the 850W just to be safe or is that just overkill...

Building on the earlier suggestion, I'd actually grab the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850W Gold. Getting 850W is better for future proofing and the cables are much easier to manage.

TL;DR: 750W is plenty. Save your money and stick with the Corsair RM750e 750W Gold. I've used them for years and they're solid for that power draw, honestly.

@Reply #2 - good point! Honestly though, this whole PSU market is just a headache. Prices are through the roof for stuff that should be standard, and it drives me crazy how these companies make cable management a complete nightmare in smaller cases. You gotta be careful not to get suckered into paying for marketing fluff when a decent unit shouldnt cost a fortune. It feels like such a scam sometimes!
