Which 4K gaming monitor is best for RTX 4090 builds?

I just got this crazy expensive PC with an RTX 4090 inside because my friend said it was the best thing ever but now I'm staring at monitor websites and I feel like an idiot. I have about 1200 dollars left to spend on a screen but there are so many options and I dont know what any of the letters mean. Like what is IPS vs OLED? I heard OLED looks amazing but then people talk about burn in and now I'm scared I'll ruin a thousand dollar monitor just by playing games for too long.

My logic was that since the card is 4K I should get a 4K screen obviously but then I see stuff about 144hz and 240hz and I dont know if the 4090 can even do that many frames. I mostly want to play stuff like Cyberpunk and Starfield and make them look as pretty as possible because I live in a tiny apartment in Seattle and gaming is my main escape right now. Should I go with a big 32 inch one or is that too big for a desk? I saw some people talking about the Neo G8 or some Asus ROG thing but the reviews are all using words I dont understand like local dimming zones and response times. Is there one that just works without me having to be a genius to set it up? I'm really worried about making the wrong choice and wasting the power of this graphics card...

I'd go with the Alienware AW3225QF 32-inch 4K QD-OLED 240Hz since it's the best 4K panel.

  • Infinite contrast
  • Zero motion blur It's basically perfect for your 4090.

Saw this today and basically, if you're scared of OLED burn-in, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 32-inch 4K 240Hz is your best bet for that 4090.

  • IPS vs OLED: IPS is standard but looks kinda greyish. OLED has perfect blacks but that burn-in risk. Mini-LED is the middle ground. It uses local dimming zones to turn off parts of the backlight, making shadows look dark in games like Cyberpunk.
  • Size: 32 inches is the sweet spot for 4K. It fits on a desk but fills your vision way better than a 27 inch screen.
  • Performance: Your 4090 wont hit 240fps in Starfield on max settings, but having the high refresh rate makes everything smoother regardless.
  • Setup: These just work out of the box mostly. Just turn on HDR in your settings and itll look great.
