Ive been gaming on a decent 60hz panel for years, but honestly, now that Ive spent more time playing titles like Warzone and the new God of War, the lack of 120hz support is really killing me. I know my way around display specs, but the whole HDMI 2.1 situation for PS5 is giving me a headache. Everyone says you need it for 4k 120fps, but do I really? Im starting to think I might just prioritize response time over resolution since I mainly play shooters anyway.
My setup is in a relatively small room so I cant go over 27 inches or itll look ridiculous on my desk. Budget is around 500 bucks, maybe 600 if it is really worth it. I need this sorted before my weekend off next week.
Is there anything out there that doesnt cost a grand but actually handles the PS5 output properly without a bunch of weird handshake issues or ghosting? Im tired of looking at comparison charts that all contradict each other, just need someone who actually owns one to tell me if it works...
Honestly, 4k on a 27 inch screen is kind of overkill anyway. I made the switch to 1440p for my desk setup and the clarity is totally fine for shooters. I used to worry about the HDMI 2.1 thing too, but you really dont need it if you settle for 1440p. Just watch out for monitors that claim to be 120hz compatible but have weird issues with the PS5 signal. I have been running this for a few months and its been rock solid for Warzone:
