Im losing my mind trying to pick a 4K monitor for my PS5. I need this sorted by Friday because my old TV just died and I have a week off coming up to grind through some games. Im in the UK and budget is around 600 quid max, which is annoying because everything good seems to be way more expensive.
So I was thinking about the Gigabyte M28U because everyone says its the king of value, but then I saw the LG 27GR93U and now Im torn. My logic was the LG might have better colors but then I read some stuff about the stand being flimsy and my desk is super wobbly already so that worries me. I also briefly looked at the MSI MAG 274UPF, its cheaper but is it worse? I just want 4K 120Hz to actually work without me having to fiddle with settings every time I turn it on. I play mostly shooters and some RPGs so motion clarity is a big deal for me. Is the Gigabyte still the one to get or am I missing something better for the price?
Honestly, I was in your shoes a few months ago and went with the Gigabyte M28U 28-inch 4K 144Hz IPS Gaming Monitor. It is honestly such a solid choice for the PS5. You get the full 4K 120Hz experience over HDMI 2.1 without any headache, which is exactly what I wanted. The KVM feature is pretty neat if you ever connect a laptop too. I have been really satisfied with the motion clarity on it, especially for shooters. The stand is definitely sturdier than what you see on some of those LG models, so it should handle your wobbly desk setup better. I havent had to touch the settings at all since the first day I set it up. It just works well, and for under 600 quid, you really cant go wrong with it.
