Hey everyone! So, I'm already thinking about upgrading my gaming monitor during the Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales in 2025. I know, it's early, but I want to be prepared! I've been using the same old 27-inch monitor for the past 5 years, and it's really starting to show its age, especially when playing games like Cyberpunk 2077. I'm aiming for a 1440p, high refresh rate monitor, ideally with G-Sync. My budget is around $400-$500. I've checked out some reviews online, but there are just SO many options. Anyone have experience or suggestions for brands/models to keep an eye on for potential deals next year? I'm especially interested in hearing about monitors that have historically seen significant price drops during those sales. Thanks in advance for any advice – I really want to make sure I snag a good deal!

I’m still pretty new to the whole PC gaming scene, but from what I’ve been reading lately, it seems like sticking with the big names is usually the safest way to go if you don’t want to deal with a headache. I’ve been looking at Dell and LG mostly because their quality control seems a bit more reliable, and ngl, the thought of getting a monitor with dead pixels or a weird yellow tint scares me lol. I’d probably suggest just watching those two brands specifically. Dell always seems to have massive discounts on their own websites around that time of year, and iirc their warranty is supposed to be one of the best. Is it better to go for a brand that makes their own panels like LG? I’m still trying to figure that part out, but honestly, I think if you stay with a major brand you’ll be fine for that budget. I’m definitely going to be extra cautious and check the return policies before I buy anything though!

Hey there! Totally get the planning-ahead thing, especially when it comes to tech. I went through the monitor upgrade rabbit hole myself a couple of years back. Instead of focusing *solely* on Black Friday, have you considered checking out open-box or refurbished options from reputable retailers *before* then?

I actually snagged a Gigabyte M27Q (1440p, 170Hz) from Micro Center's open-box section for around $280 in early 2023. Looked brand new, came with all the cables, and has been rock solid for my sim racing setup ever since. It might not be G-Sync, but it's Freesync compatible, which works perfectly well with my AMD card. You might find something similar, and then Black Friday becomes about snagging something *extra* cool! I'd suggest searching for "open box gaming monitor" on the major retailer websites and just check them regularly.

Like getting my winter tires on – sometimes the best deals are before the rush! Worth a look, anyway. Good luck, and let me know if you find anything interesting!

Hey! I totally get the monitor-prep thing! Planning ahead for Black Friday is smart. While the other reply mentioned focusing on panel types, let's dive a bit deeper into the *tech* side of things – because that can really influence your gaming experience!

Instead of just focusing on brands, consider the specific technologies each monitor uses. Things like DisplayHDR certification levels (400, 600, 1000, etc.) can make a HUGE difference in how vibrant and immersive your games look, especially Cyberpunk! I'd suggest researching monitors that support at least DisplayHDR 600.

Also, look into monitors with low input lag and fast response times (1ms or lower is ideal). A lot of monitors *claim* these specs, but check out independent reviews (sites like Rtings.com are fantastic) to verify. Input lag can kill your reaction time, no matter how good your reflexes are!

My personal recommendation (and this might be slightly outside your budget *now*, but could hit a deal next year) is to keep an eye on monitors using the LG Nano IPS panels. They offer fantastic color accuracy, wide viewing angles, and excellent response times. I remember seeing the LG 27GN850-B (a 27-inch, 1440p, 144Hz G-Sync compatible monitor with Nano IPS) dip down to around $450 during a flash sale a while back. It's worth tracking!

Another thing to consider: Some monitors have better overdrive settings than others. Overdrive helps reduce ghosting, but if it's poorly implemented, it can introduce inverse ghosting (weird artifacts). Again, Rtings.com is your friend here!

Finally, don't forget to factor in the monitor's stand! Is it adjustable enough for your setup? Can you easily rotate it into portrait mode if you ever want to? These little things can make a big difference in your overall experience.

Just like researching the right tires for my old Mustang, finding the right monitor takes time and effort! Let me know if you have more specific questions as you narrow down your choices – happy to help! Good luck with the hunt!

Hey! Yeah, I totally get pre-planning for Black Friday monitor deals. Everyone's hitting the specs hard, which is good, but let's talk about value, since you're on a budget. I've been down that road, and sometimes chasing the 'best' spec isn't the smartest move.

Honestly, instead of aiming for the bleeding edge of G-Sync and everything, I'd suggest keeping an eye on slightly *older* models from reputable brands like ASUS, LG, or even Samsung. Last year during the Cyber Monday sales, I saw the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ (a solid 1440p, 165Hz G-Sync Compatible monitor) drop to around $320 on Amazon. It's not the newest, flashiest thing, but for the price, the performance is killer.

My reasoning? These slightly older models are often just as good for actual gaming, and the price drops are WAY more significant. You're talking potentially hundreds of dollars saved, which you could then use on, say, a new graphics card… or maybe even a nice set of tires! I'm currently rocking tires down to 3/32" myself and I'm thinking about upgrading to the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4.

I remember a few years ago I splurged on a 'top-of-the-line' monitor, thinking it would be a game-changer. While the picture was nice, honestly, the improvement wasn't worth the extra $300 I spent. I was pretty disappointed. So, my advice is to prioritize value and don't get caught up in the hype. Keep an eye on those 'last generation' models – they often offer the best bang for your buck. Good luck with the hunt, and feel free to hit me up if you have more questions later on!
