What 1440p monitor should I get for CS2? I dont really understand what hertz or ms means so sorry if this is a dumb question but I just want it to look smooth. My budget is around $350 and I need to pick something up from Best Buy tomorrow...

I was in your exact same shoes about six months ago! I walked into Best Buy with some cash and honestly had no clue what refresh rate actually did for me. I ended up grabbing the LG 27GP850-B 27-inch UltraGear QHD Nano IPS and it felt like I was playing a totally different game. CS2 went from looking like a choppy slideshow to feeling butter smooth! The colors are amazing and it usually stays way under your $350 limit. My headshot count basically doubled because everything was so clear when I flicked my mouse... its seriously a game changer for competitive shooters. Best Buy almost always has these on the shelf too. TL;DR: Grab the LG 27GP850-B 27-inch UltraGear QHD Nano IPS or the Dell G2724D 27-inch QHD 165Hz. Both are fantastic budget picks that look incredible and will handle CS2 perfectly.

Yo! Quick reply while I'm on my break. For $350, you seriously gotta see if they have the Gigabyte M27Q 27-inch 1440p 170Hz Gaming Monitor in stock. It is an absolute legend for the price! Hertz basically means how many frames the screen shows per second. More hertz equals way smoother movement. Honestly, just look for 144Hz or higher and you will be golden for CS2. Its gonna be a massive upgrade!

Just saw this. Unfortunately, my previous units had unacceptable backlight bleed. I chose the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27-inch 1440p 165Hz for its reliability.

  • 1ms response
  • Consistent panels It's safer.
