My old laptop basically exploded this morning and I have a huge project due Monday so I need a replacement like yesterday. Im looking at the Acer Aspire 5 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 because they are both under $450 at the Best Buy near me and I can grab them today. I mostly do data entry and heavy Zoom calls all day so I need something that wont lag out on me. The Acer has a better screen I think but the Lenovo keyboard looks way more comfortable for typing. Im really torn between the two and need to pick one up tonight. Which one handles multi-tasking better for WFH stuff or is there something else I should check out?

Grab the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15.6 inch Ryzen 5.

  • Superior keyboard for data entry.
  • Reliable for multitasking. The Acer Aspire 5 A515-56 Core i5 has a nicer screen, but Lenovo is more practical.

A similar scare happened to me last year when my work machine just wouldnt boot right before a big project. Ended up panic-buying a Dell since they usually have decent parts availability if something goes wrong later. For heavy multitasking on a budget, definitely look at the Dell Inspiron 15 3520 Intel Core i5-1235U 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. Its usually right in that $400 range and feels a bit more reliable than the really thin plastic models.

  • 120Hz screen is way smoother for scrolling spreadsheets
  • Build is sturdy enough for daily use
  • Keyboard is decent for data entry Handles those heavy Zoom calls without sounding like a jet engine too. Used it for 8-hour shifts and it stayed pretty cool, which is basically what you need right now. If thats out of stock, the HP Laptop 15-dy5033nr Intel Core i3-1215U 8GB RAM 256GB SSD is also a safe bet for basic office tasks...

Just saw this and had a total flashback to when my machine fried! I grabbed the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ASUS+ Vivobook+16+M1605+Ryzen+5+8GB+512GB&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">ASUS Vivobook 16 M1605 Ryzen 5 8GB 512GB and its been amazing for heavy data work. The 16:10 display is fantastic for seeing extra rows in Excel!!

  • Ryzen 5 performance is stellar
  • Thermals are great for long Zooms
  • Massive screen real estate Love how snappy it stays even with fifty tabs open... definitely check if Best Buy has it in stock tonight!
