I have no idea where to start with this stuff honestly. My current laptop just chokes whenever I try to look at 4K clips from my Sony camera and I need to finish a wedding project for a friend by July.
I was looking at the nvidia cards and my logic was that a higher number like 4080 is better but then I saw stuff about vram and I got really confused. I have about 800 dollars set aside just for the graphics card but I dont want to waste money if a cheaper one works just as well. Is the 4070 ti super the right move or am I looking at the wrong things entirely...
I'm very satisfied with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB for 4K stability. It's worked well for me, though I also looked at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB for a safer budget choice.
Ok adding this to my list of things to try. Thanks for the tip!
Jumping in to agree with the 16GB recommendation. In my experience, VRAM is the primary bottleneck for 4K timelines rather than raw clock speed. Over the years, Ive found that insufficient memory causes stability issues during complex exports.
