Im getting super excited because my best friend and I are finally planning our big move to a new apartment in Seattle next month and we seriously need to buy like everything from scratch. Seriously though, our budget is kinda tight so we are trying to coordinate every single purchase to make sure we arent doubling up on stuff like kitchen gadgets or organizers. The problem is we keep sending each other a million screenshots and links and its getting totally chaotic. We are currently trying to figure out which sites actually let you build a cart and share it so the other person can just click checkout or at least add to it.

I looked into Amazon Shared Lists but it feels like that only works for wishlists and not really for an active cart you intend to buy right now. I also read somewhere that browser extensions like ShareASale or some random collaborative cart plugins exist but they seem really sketchy or just meant for influencers and marketing stuff, not regular roommates just trying to buy a toaster and some curtains without losing our minds. Some forums say to just use a shared login but I really dont want to deal with 2fa codes and security alerts every time we want to check out, that sounds like a total nightmare.

Are there any legitimate tools or apps where we can both log in and see the same live cart? I feel like this should be a standard feature by now but maybe I am just missing something obvious. Does anyone use anything that actually makes this easy for household shopping or are we just stuck doing the manual link sharing thing forever?

Honestly, sharing logins is a security nightmare, so definitely avoid that. For move-in shopping, I use Easy Cart Share. It lets you sync items across different browsers without needing to share account credentials.

  • It keeps things organized
  • No 2FA headaches
  • Works well for basic household stuff It is way better than sending screenshots back and forth every five minutes. Good luck with the move to Seattle.
