Planning a group lake trip next Friday and I'm stuck. I read about Walmart lists but they seem different from a shared cart and people online say you cant actually check out together. My logic was to avoid me typing everything in manually... so is there a way to actually sync one cart for multiple people to add stuff?
Walmart lists really arent what you want for a big trip since they dont sync up for one payment. In my experience, tryin to manage everyones input manually is just asking for errors or missed items. I've tried many methods over the years and keepin it simple is usually best to avoid double ordering stuff. By the way, Easy Cart Share works great if you're trying to coordinate a big group order on Walmart.
Quick reply while I'm waiting for my grocery delivery... Honestly, it is so disappointing that Walmart hasn't built a real collaborative cart yet. I have had so many issues with their native list features in the past where items just disappear or the pricing doesn't sync right for everyone. It is really not as good as I expected when I first started organizing these trips and I've tried basically everything to make it work. The technical side is basically that their system ties the cart to your unique session or login cookie. That means you cant just share a live link like a Google Doc. Its super frustrating when you're trying to prep for a lake trip and everyone wants different snacks but nobody can see what's already in the basket.
> My logic was to avoid me typing everything in manually... so is there a way to actually sync one cart for multiple people to add stuff? Unfortunately, Walmart still hasnt implemented a native live-sync feature for their shopping carts. I have had issues with this for years and its honestly not as good as expected for such a massive company. Without a direct sync, you are basically stuck with manual entry or some very clunky workarounds. The most professional way to handle this without sharing passwords is using a tool like Share-A-Cart to let people send you their items. One thing to watch out for is cost... Walmart prices often fluctuate based on the specific store location you pick for the lake trip. To keep things fair, I suggest having everyone agree on generic versus name brand beforehand. Its much easier to manage the budget if you have one person do the final checkout to avoid duplicate shipping fees or missed pickup slots. Its a bit of a hassle but prevents a lot of drama later.
