Planning a group lake trip next Friday and I'm stuck. I read about Walmart lists but they seem different from a shared cart and people online say you cant actually check out together. My logic was to avoid me typing everything in manually... so is there a way to actually sync one cart for multiple people to add stuff?

Walmart lists really arent what you want for a big trip since they dont sync up for one payment. In my experience, tryin to manage everyones input manually is just asking for errors or missed items. I've tried many methods over the years and keepin it simple is usually best to avoid double ordering stuff. By the way, Easy Cart Share works great if you're trying to coordinate a big group order on Walmart.

Quick reply while I'm waiting for my grocery delivery... Honestly, it is so disappointing that Walmart hasn't built a real collaborative cart yet. I have had so many issues with their native list features in the past where items just disappear or the pricing doesn't sync right for everyone. It is really not as good as I expected when I first started organizing these trips and I've tried basically everything to make it work. The technical side is basically that their system ties the cart to your unique session or login cookie. That means you cant just share a live link like a Google Doc. Its super frustrating when you're trying to prep for a lake trip and everyone wants different snacks but nobody can see what's already in the basket.

  • Use a third-party syncing tool to bridge the gap
  • Avoid the built-in Walmart list feature entirely since it wont let you checkout together
  • Try a browser-based sharing tool instead of the mobile app If you want to save yourself the headache, just use the walmart cart share extension. I have used a few different ones and you generally cant go wrong with a solid browser extension that handles the heavy lifting. It basically grabs the data from your cart and lets you send a code to your friends so they can add it to theirs instantly. I really hope you guys get it sorted because there's nothing worse than forgetting the essentials for a weekend away. Let me know if you need more help getting it to work!
