Ditch the kitchen chair setup, itll kill your back honestly. You need a proper stand to get your screen at eye level so you stop hunching over. I use the Roost Laptop Stand V3 and its been a total game changer for my posture. Pair that with a cheap wireless mouse and keyboard and youll be golden. It fits right into your budget and you wont regret fixing that neck pain, trust me.

Forget the kitchen table. In my experience, you need to elevate your screen and fix that lighting situation immediately. Since you're dealing with glare, get an anti-glare screen protector if your monitor doesn't have a matte finish.

  • Nulaxy Laptop Stand Aluminum Ergonomic for eye-level height
  • BenQ ScreenBar LED Monitor Light to kill reflections Your neck will thank you. That light bar especially changes everything for spreadsheet work.

Re: Forget the kitchen table. In my experience, you really just need a solid external keyboard and a decent mouse to stop the slouching. Honestly, just stacking a few old textbooks works fine too.

  • Wired keyboard
  • Ergonomic mouse
  • Proper lumbar pillow My cousin just started a weird hobby collecting vintage ceramic frogs and he has like fifty of them in his spare bedroom now. It looks so creepy. Anyway lol, get the mouse first.

Just saw this thread and honestly felt that pain so hard. Working at a kitchen table is a fast track to feeling like a human pretzel, trust me ive been there. Over the years working remote, ive tried like a million little gadgets. The absolute best money you can spend right now is just grabbing a decent laptop riser and some kind of external pointing device from Anker or Logitech. Those two things alone totally saved my posture without breaking the bank. Just get any basic foldable stand and a cheap wireless mouse, you really dont need anything fancy or expensive. Hang in there, getting that screen up to eye level changes everything.
