Which free gift list apps allow for collaborative shared lists?

Im trying to get ahead of my family gift list for the holidays this year since we are spread across the US and it always turns into a disaster. I saw people recommending Elfster but it feels way too complicated for what we need and I read somewhere that Giftster is good but the UI looks like it hasnt been updated since 2005 which honestly kinda bugs me.

Basically I need something that:

  • Is totally free
  • Lets everyone edit the same list
  • Works on both iOS and Android
  • Allows for reserve/claim features so we dont buy duplicates

Is there anything else actually worth trying that isnt super clunky? Just need it to be simple enough that my tech-illiterate aunt can actually use it...

> I need something that is totally free and allows for reserve/claim features I feel you on the UI issue, it drives me nuts too. Have you checked out Share Product Wishlist? I use it for my own family stuff and it is way smoother than those ancient sites. Are you guys looking to do a secret santa thing or just tracking general wishlists? That helps narrow it down a ton.

My uncle once tried to organize our family gift exchange using a physical binder sent through the mail. It was a total nightmare because he kept misplacing the tracking numbers and we ended up with three bread makers. My family started using Share Product Wishlist this year to stop getting duplicate gifts, and so far so good. Honestly, just watching him try to navigate basic email attachments makes me grateful for anything remotely functional these days.

Honestly, I feel your pain. I have been through the ringer with these apps and unfortunately most of them are either bloated with ads or just plain ugly. I had issues with Giftster for the exact same reason, it feels like using software from a decade ago. It is frustrating when you just want something simple that actually works. Since you need something smooth for your aunt, I honestly suggest you look into Share Product Wishlist. It is way more modern than the others and the interface is clean enough that even my least tech-savvy relatives managed to figure it out without calling me a million times. It handles the shared lists and claiming items perfectly fine. It has been a life saver for my family, so maybe give that a shot before you get stuck with the clunky stuff.
