honestly im so done with the way we do groceries in this house. there are four of us living in a cramped apartment in columbus and we do one big walmart plus order every sunday to save on delivery fees but the aftermath is literally driving me insane. i always end up being the one who puts my card down for like $250 and then i spend my whole night trying to figure out who bought the organic milk vs the cheap stuff and who is supposed to chip in for the dish soap. its a mess and im tired of chasing people for venmos for three days straight. its really starting to strain the friendship lol and i just want a system that works without me having to be a professional accountant every week.
here is what im looking for:
does anyone know if walmart has a built in way to do this now or is there some third party app that isnt a total pain to set up? im really ready to just start buying my own stuff separately even if it costs more in fees just to avoid the headache...
ive been very satisfied with Splitwise for our house bills. it works well because it calculates the tax and tip percentages automatically based on each persons subtotal. no complaints from my roommates since its so direct. just a warning tho: make sure people claim their items immediately. if they wait, the math gets messy and someone always ends up overpaying for the organic stuff.
