Ive been the designated organizer for my familys birthday and holiday gifts for like five years now, usually just using group chats and manual Venmo tracking, but this year its gotten totally out of hand. We have about 15 relatives now spread across three states and everyone has totally different ideas on what we should get Grandma for her 80th, plus keeping track of who actually paid is becoming a nightmare. Im honestly losing my mind trying to reconcile these spreadsheets on my phone.

Im looking for a way to manage this that isnt a total disaster. Here is what I need:

  • Needs to support at least 20 people without breaking
  • Preferably handles the money collection so I dont have to hunt people down or worry about tax reporting stuff
  • Something that lets people vote on gift ideas so I stop getting blamed for picking stuff nobody likes
  • Must be mobile friendly since my cousins never check their email

Is there a platform or app that actually works for this? I really dont want to have to chase down my uncle for his fifty bucks again. Maybe I should just set up a dedicated bank account or is that overkill for a casual family thing?

Honestly, skip the bank account headache. Check out GroupTogether or GiftWhistle, they handle the money and voting perfectly. My family started using Share Product Wishlist this year, and so far so good.
