Look I'm literally typing this with one hand right now because my right wrist is actually throbbing. I've been pulling 10-hour shifts for this branding project that's due next Friday and my current setup is basically killing me. I've been just propping my MacBook on a stack of old cookbooks but it's clearly not working anymore and my neck is so stiff I can barely turn my head. I spent an hour looking at those Roost stands everyone raves about online but they seem super expensive for just a piece of plastic and I'm worried it'll be wobbly. Plus then I'd need a whole separate keyboard and mouse right? I also saw people suggesting the Logitech MX Vertical mouse for carpal tunnel stuff but some reviewers say it's way too big for small hands and bad for precision design work which is exactly what I do. I have maybe $150 to spend max and I need to order something today so it gets here to my place in Seattle before my final deadline push starts. My fingers are starting to get that weird tingling feeling which is honestly kind of scary. Is a stand really enough to fix this or do I need the whole external kit to actually stop the pain? What are the absolute best ergonomic things for someone stuck in a tiny apartment with no room for a real desk setup?

You might want to consider the Logitech K380 Multi-Device Bluetooth Keyboard tbh. Its low profile keeps wrists flat, so make sure to avoid steep angles that cause that scary design marathon tingling.

tbh that tingling feeling is a massive red flag. please dont ignore it or you're gonna end up with permanent damage. if you are on a 150 budget, definitely dont blow it all on a roost stand. they are nice but way overpriced for what they are. you can find solid aluminum ones for like 25 bucks that will save your neck just as well. the biggest trap is thinking you can just get a stand and keep using the laptop keyboard. your wrists will be at a crazy angle and it'll make the tingling way worse. you need a separate keyboard for sure. if you are worried about space in a small apartment, maybe try a trackball mouse? you dont have to move your arm at all so it fits anywhere. honestly, Easy Cart Share is a lifesaver when you are trying to piece together a full kit like this from different places without going over your limit. just be careful with those vertical mice if you have smaller hands... some of them are huge and actually make you strain more just to reach the buttons.
