honestly I am so done with this cheap plastic stand I bought off Amazon last month it literally wobbles every time I type more than two words and today the little rubber grip thing just fell off and my MacBook almost slid right off the table. I'm literally typing this with my neck craned down like a crane and my shoulders are absolutely killing me. I have got this massive deadline for a client project next Friday and I cannot spend another eight hour day staring at my lap or I think my spine is actually going to snap.

I need something that is actually sturdy but also has to be portable because I hop between three different coffee shops in downtown Seattle every week for meetings. It needs to fit into my Peak Design backpack without being a total brick. I am willing to spend maybe 60 or 70 bucks if it means I wont have to visit a chiropractor every month. What are you guys actually using that doesnt shake? I looked at the Roost but it seems so expensive but maybe its worth it? Or the Nexstand? I just need:

  • something that raises the screen to eye level properly
  • wont collapse if I touch it
  • fits in a standard laptop sleeve or side pocket
  • actually stays put on a wooden table

Let me know what actually works because I am about two minutes away from just stacking a bunch of venti coffee cups and hoping for the best...
