Just bought my first ever laptop for college classes and im honestly so lost. I have like 50 bucks left after the purchase and dont know what I actually need. Is a mouse like, mandatory? Do I need a special bag or is a backpack fine? What are the actual must-haves for a total beginner?

Congrats on the new laptop! Honestly, don't sweat the gear too much yet. A backpack you already own is fine as long as you toss in a cheap sleeve. For the mouse, trackpads can be annoying for long papers, so grab a Logitech M185 Wireless Mouse if you have extra cash. It is super reliable and cheap. Just keep your setup simple for now.

To add to the point above: you really need a decent hub. I tried a cheap one from a gas station, but it died after a week and constantly dropped my connection. Honestly, save yourself the headache.
- Anker USB-C Hub 5-in-1 Adapter is super reliable for extra ports.
- Sabrent 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub works fine but isnt as portable. Dont bother with the cheap generic ones, they just break.
