Which portable accessories are essential for students using laptops daily?

Im spending like 10 hours a day on my Dell XPS at the library or local cafes lately and my neck is absolutely killing me. I looked up some stuff online and everyone keeps saying to get a portable laptop stand and a massive power bank. My logic was that I could just find a wall outlet and use my books to prop up the screen but its super unstable and most of the good spots in the library dont have plugs nearby. I saw people recommending those Nexstand things but then I read reviews saying they feel cheap or dont fit in smaller bags. Ive only got about $100 to spend on everything before the next semester kicks off and Im really torn on what is actually essential versus just extra weight in my backpack. Like is a dedicated mouse actually worth the space? Or should I put the money toward a really long charging cable instead of a battery pack? Im trying to figure out what you guys actually carry every single day without feeling like youre hauling a brick. Im based in Seattle and move between campus and coffee shops a lot so portability is everything for me right now. Is there a specific holy grail accessory Im missing that makes the daily grind easier...

I've worked from cafes for years and I'm honestly so satisfied with this setup. It works well for saving your neck:

  • Moft Invisible Laptop Stand Adhesive is a lifesaver that sticks to the bottom so you never forget it.
  • Logitech Pebble M350 Wireless Mouse is super portable and helps your posture. A mouse is definitely worth the space. Also, a Baseus 65W Power Bank 20000mAh fits your budget and solves the outlet problem perfectly.

I’ve had issues with those adhesive stands before—they peel off and honestly feel flimsy. Not as good as I expected. I wasted money on cheap power banks that died, so now I just carry an Anker 333 USB-C to USB-C Cable 10ft 100W and hunt for a wall. Its way more reliable. The Ugreen Foldable Aluminum Laptop Stand is what I finally settled on after books kept slipping.
