I am so hyped for Christmas this year because my whole extended family is actually coming to my place in Chicago for once but oh my god the list is getting out of hand. I have like 14 people to buy for and I keep forgetting who I already got stuff for versus what is still shipping in the mail. I really need a solid app that wont cost me anything since my budget is already stretched thin from buying a literal mountain of toys for my nieces and nephews. I have been looking at Giftster because I heard you can make groups and share lists which sounds amazing so people dont buy the same thing twice. But then I also saw one called Santas Bag that looks super cute and simple but I think it might be iOS only and some of my family are on Android? Or maybe just sticking to a basic Google Sheet is better even though its kind of boring to look at on a phone while I am actually out at the mall. I really want something where I can check off when a gift is wrapped too so I dont lose my mind in December. Between Giftster and Santas Bag or maybe something else I missed what do you think is the best for a huge group where half the people arent tech savvy at all?

I've been looking at the backend sync latency and I'm satisfied with how major cloud platforms handle multi-user write permissions. Quick question tho, how many of those 14 people actually need to edit the data themselves? Honestly, just go with any cloud-based sheet tool from Google. The cross-platform stability is way better and you wont have to worry about proprietary database conflicts...

Ugh, I feel that shipping chaos so hard. Last year I actually cried because I couldnt remember if I bought a gift for my youngest nephew or if I just dreamed I did... I ended up buying a second toy just in case and then found the first one hidden under a pile of laundry two weeks later. It is so draining trying to keep it all straight when you have 10+ people to buy for and packages are arriving at all different times. Honestly it makes the holidays feel like a full-time job instead of something fun. Ive been using Giftster for a couple years now and I am really happy with it. Since its free it doesnt eat into the gift budget which is huge for me. I love that you can see when someone else has bought something so no one gets duplicates. Plus the wrap tracking is a total lifesaver when the house starts getting messy. It works great for my family since half of them are on android and the other half are on ios... no complaints at all about how it handles the sync.
