Ive been working off my laptop for years now, mostly just using the trackpad and the built-in keyboard for all my dev work, but my wrists are starting to kill me and I cant keep up with this workload. Deadline is in two weeks for a huge project and Im honestly kinda desperate to get my workspace sorted before I burn out completely. Im in London right now and have maybe two hundred quid to blow on gear if it actually makes a difference. What are the absolute must-have accessories to actually boost productivity and save my joints? Is a vertical mouse and external mechanical keyboard enough or am I missing something crucial?

Honestly, if your wrists are already failing you, you need to look at ergonomics before anything else. The keyboard is only half the battle. Grab the Logitech MX Ergo Wireless Trackball Mouse because the fixed arm position is a literal lifesaver compared to moving a mouse around all day. It takes a couple days to get used to the thumb ball, but it stops that repetitive strain in its tracks. Also, definitely pick up a Kensington SmartFit Easy Riser Laptop Cooling Stand to get your screen to eye level. Looking down at a screen for hours is killing your posture and locking up your shoulders, which feeds right into that wrist pain. Pair those with a Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switches and you will honestly feel like a new person by that deadline!

> my wrists are starting to kill me... totally feel you. Honestly, skip the pricey board and grab a Logitech K860 Ergo Split Keyboard. Unfortunately, it feels plasticky, but it saves my wrists.

> my wrists are starting to kill me Dude, you gotta stop that immediately. I went through the same thing last year and honestly the pain doesnt just go away. Definitely grab a Logitech MX Vertical mouse for the wrist relief. I also use a Keychron K2 V2 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard to keep my hands flat. Just be careful with the height, make sure you get a decent palm rest so you arent straining while typing.
