Im getting so hyped about organizing my life lately, finally gonna get my grocery game together before the new month starts next week! Since I do all my meal planning on my desktop at home but always end up staring blankly at the shelves in the store, I really need a chrome extension that lets me sync lists across everything instantly. I checked out AnyList and Keep but honestly they feel kinda clunky for what I want and most of the reviews online say the chrome integration is either broken or just a separate window that doesnt actually sync right with the mobile app? Like, one forum thread said keep is fine but then another person mentioned it gets super laggy with long lists so now Im just confused.
My logic was that a simple extension would be perfect to just click and add items while Im browsing recipes, but maybe Im overthinking it and should just use a shared note app? I dont really have a budget for this, just want something free that actually works. Does anyone know of a light extension that isnt a total pain to set up?

Honestly, I used to struggle with the same exact sync issues until I started using Todoist. You might want to consider it because the Chrome extension is actually super lightweight and just sits right in your toolbar for quick adds while you are looking at recipes. It keeps everything in real-time sync with your phone perfectly. Just make sure to set up a dedicated project folder for groceries so it doesnt clutter your daily tasks. Be careful with other extensions that claim to be dedicated grocery apps, as they often have really bad backend sync issues or are just data mining traps. I would suggest giving this a try first since its free and has worked flawlessly for me for years without any of that annoying lag you mentioned.
