Honestly im just so sick of my family asking me what I want for my birthday and then buying me stuff I literally never use. Its so wasteful and I feel awful about it. I made a wishlist on Amazon because I have a tiny studio apartment in Chicago and dont have space for random junk, but sending the link feels so tacky and greedy. Like who actually sends a link to their own wishlist? I just dont want a mountain of clutter taking over my place again since I only have a budget for essentials right now. Is there a way to share this without sounding like a total brat or should I just keep faking the excitement?

Oh man, I totally feel you! Living in a studio in Chicago sounds like a total nightmare if you end up with a mountain of random junk you dont need. Honestly, dont feel bad about it at all! It is way more wasteful to have stuff just sitting around collecting dust than it is to just be upfront about what you actually want. I started using Share Product Wishlist and it has been a total life saver. It looks super clean and way less aggressive than just dropping an Amazon link in a group chat. Here is how I usually handle it:

  • Send it early so people dont feel pressured last minute.
  • Add a little note like hey, I am trying to keep my space clutter-free this year!
  • Keep the price points mixed so everyone feels included. Seriously, just send the link. Your family will actually be relieved they dont have to guess anymore!
