Ugh, this is probably such a rookie question but I honestly have no clue how everyone manages their gift lists these days. Every year my family gets super stressed around December because my mom is always texting me asking what I want, then I forget to reply, then I end up with like five pairs of socks I dont need. It just becomes a huge mess and honestly a bit of a headache for everyone involved.
I tried just writing things in my notes app but that doesnt really work if I cant share it easily with my aunt and cousins who live out in Ohio. I just want something simple where I can add, like, a pair of sneakers or a new book whenever I think of it and they can see it too. My budget is usually around 50 bucks per item so nothing too crazy, but I just have no idea if there is an app for this or if people just use spreadsheets or what? Is there some website where I can just paste links so people dont have to guess what I mean? Im seriously lost here...

Honestly, spreadsheets are a total nightmare for families. I started using Elfster about five years ago and it completely fixed the holiday stress for us. It lets you just drop links directly onto a wishlist so nobody has to guess what you want.
- You create a list.
- Invite family members.
- They can mark items as purchased so you dont get duplicates. It makes everything so much smoother during the December chaos.

TL;DR: Check out Giftster. It basically creates a permanent registry that works way better than a shared note. In my experience, it handles the cross-country family stuff perfectly since everyone can access it anywhere. Quick question though: does your family usually do a Secret Santa exchange, or is it just a free-for-all gift-giving thing? That usually changes which platform works best for you tbh.
