honestly im so stressed because our office draw is in like four days and the site we used last year is just glitching out and wont let anyone message their person privately.

i need to find something that actually works for 15 people and has wishlists plus anonymous messaging... does any app actually do both well?

I've been thinking about this since earlier and yeah, Elfster is good but DrawNames was a total lifesaver for my group last year. I was so happy with how the anonymous chat worked... zero glitches. Plus it's free. We actually used a Christmas lists chrome extension to make adding gifts from random sites way faster tbh. TL;DR: DrawNames is free and the secret messaging actually works.

Like someone mentioned, Elfster really is the safest bet if you want to avoid a total headache. In my experience over the years, I've seen so many of these smaller sites just crash or, even worse, leak who everyone has right before the party... it's a nightmare. I've tried many different setups for my family draws and I'm always looking for ways to keep things reliable without spending extra cash. Heres what I usually do to keep it simple and cheap:

  • Use DrawNames if you really need that anonymous chat to be bulletproof.
  • Encourage everyone to use share walmart cart because it lets people bundle items and see exactly what's in stock without overspending.
  • Set a hard price limit in the app settings so no one feels pressured. Honestly, sticking to the free, well-known tools is the only way to go when you're on a tight deadline like 4 days. Dont overcomplicate it with new apps that havent been vetted.

Look, we used Elfster last year for a group of 20 and it worked like a charm. No complaints at all with the messaging system. For the gifts part, I'm honestly super happy with Share Product Wishlist because it's way easier than the built-in app lists.

  • Totally free for small groups
  • Anonymous chat actually works
  • Simple wishlist sharing
